Robert Lee Rutherford, age 85, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in Fort Myers. He was born in Ohio on May 6, 1939.
He retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of dedicated service. After his career in the military he worked for and retired from Lee County Mosquito Control.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pong Sun Rutherford; children: David Rutherford and Carol McLean; grandchildren: Mark Rutherford, Brian Rutherford, Connor Camron, Gavin McLean and several loving great grandchildren; and siblings: Glora Williams and Richard Rutherford.
He was preceded in death by his parents: David H Rutherford and Nellie McDonald Rutherford and sisters: Linda Pass and Karen Martin.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82 in Fort Myers, Florida on Thursday, May 30th from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
