Quintin Alejandro Mosquito

Quintin Alejandro Mosquito was born to the late Minet Jobson and Pinta Mosquito in the city of Colon, Republic of Panama on July 13, 1944. Quintin (also known as Sonny to his family) attended Pablo Arosameña Escuela in Colón, Panama. In the late 60’s, he migrated to the U.S and served in the Vietnam War where he earned his other nickname Panama. Afterwards he worked in food services, and as a cab driver in New York for over 25 years. Throughout his journey he underwent a plethora of adventures all over the five boroughs. He also had six children whom he loved and worked overtime to support during his time in New York.

Serving in the Army was one of Quintin’s proudest achievements next to his children and his corner house in Fort Myers. After his time in New York in 2003 he moved to Florida where in addition to acquiring his home and growing the best mango trees in the neighborhood he started a landscaping business. He loved going fishing, playing cards, dominos, raising dogs in need, hosting barbecues, and taking his friends and family on field trips to the casino. All throughout his life Quintin was admired, respected, and loved very much by many.

As he joins his wings with his mother Minet Jobson, stepdad Jose Jobson, brothers Ricardo and Lorenzo Jobson, and daughter Quintina Hazel, he is survived by his children Antoinette Pershay, Yvonne Mosquito, Alexsandra Hazel, Vicki Jackson, Tesha Jackson, and his sister Carmelinda Jobson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Antoine Pershay, Jahvon Mosquito, Selena Pershay, Kahafra Mosquito, Na’Ziyah Jackson, Imani Mosquito, and Quintin Mosquito II, his great grandchildren Nikhil Nicholas, Jahmora Mosquito, Antoine Pershay II, Caleb Mosquito, Troy Morris, Teryn Pershay, Johan Mosquito, Taj Pershay, and Toni Pershay. He leaves them all to cherish his memory in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special companions Gloria Brown, Pamela Hazel, and Francenia Jackson.

A service of remembrance for Quintin will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
