Phyllis Nadine Smith

She was born on June 25, 1940 in Lyra, Ohio by her loving parents John and Dorothy McGuire.

Phyllis married her husband Vernon Gene Smith on December 9, 1967. They were married for a wonderful 35 years until his passing on June 1, 2002. They were both long time members of the VFW Post 38 in Fort Myers, Florida.

In addition to her husband Vernon Gene Smith, she was predeceased by her parents John and Dorothy McGuire, son Jerry Smith, and her granddaughter Brittany Clark.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved dog Frankie, son Jeff Clark of North Fort Myers, Daughter Yvonne (Rick) Hollenback of Fort Myers, son Michael (Kristin) Smith of Kentucky, and son David of New Jersey. Her seven grandchildren Brandi (Christian) Shedio, Jennifer (Brian) Hayes, Crystal (Brent) Nelson, Nathan Clark, Brooklynn Clark, Zoey Smith and Sophia Smith. Her seven great grandchildren, Ava, Aiden, Eli, Griffin, Dylon, Brenna and Maverick. Her sister Ramona Davis of Westerville, Ohio and two nieces Renee Wittman and Nadine long. She is also survived by many cousins and family members.

Phyllis Smith was a mother, sister, and a friend to many. She loved her family and life without measure. She will not be remembered without a laugh or a happy thought.

A visitation for Phyllis will be held Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
