Norman A. Erickson

Norman was born in Aurora, IL on October 20, 1942 to Alvar Erickson and Lorraine (Sheetz) Erickson Jeter.

Norman grew up in Kaneville, IL. He enjoyed small town living, attending the local Methodist church, and the small town grade school where his love of sports grew.

He attended Kaneland High School, graduated in 1960, with a football scholarship to Illinois Wesleyan University.

Norman met his wife, April Neely, during his 2nd year at Wesleyan. They were married January 25, 1964 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oak Lawn, IL. Norm became a member of the Lutheran church and was a faithful member of the Lutheran faith and church wherever he lived.

Norm was co-captain of Wesleyan’s football team. Norm was the happiest when he was playing or coaching a sport. He graduated in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

He took a job with A.O. Smith in Milwaukee, WI. In 1976 Norm was transferred to the Chicago division of A.O. Smith. In 2004 Norm and April moved to Florida.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, April Erickson; his children, Michael (Nora), Philip, and Robert Erickson; his grandchildren, Melina, Forest, Colin, Emily, Michael, Ryan, Faith, and Paige; his brother, Marlin (Joy) Erickson; his sister-in-laws, Gail (Richard) Mayo, Kathy (Kevin) Ocker; his brother-in-law, Kenneth (Gail) Neely.

And many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 5th at 3:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church located at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. E, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936
