Natalie M. Ventura, age 75, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully at home with her cherished family by her side on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Natalie was surrounded with family every step of the way during her final days. Natalie was born on September 11, 1948, in Providence, Rhode Island. Beloved daughter of the late, Joseph and Rita (Pimental) Souza. She married the love of her life, the late, Russell Ventura in 1971 in West Warwick, RI. Natalie and Russell had a wonderful life together and later retired to Fort Myers, FL in 2003.
Natalie was a devoted mother to her daughter Christina Ventura. She is survived by her brother Anthony Souza, sister Donna Medeiros, cousin Pamela Monte, and many nieces and nephews.
Natalie had a long career working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Retiring as a Claims Training Manager in 2002. She was a dedicated employee and worked for Weight Watchers for 20 years. Her greatest honor and achievement in life was being a committed wife, daughter, and sister. But above everything she loved being a mother the most. Natalie was such a kind generous soul. She worked tirelessly to ensure that her family had everything they needed. Natalie enjoyed traveling especially cruises with Russell. She was an avid quilter, card player, and shopper. She loved the theater and the arts. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Natalie’s doctors, nurses, and caregivers over the last two years. Those who have been part of her care team have had a positive impact on us all. A memorial visitation for Natalie will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hodges-Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
