Mary E. Collins

Mary E. (Corrigan) Collins, 78, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away on April 6, 2023 at 9:15 pm after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She passed at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, FL. She was born in Jersey City, NJ. She lived her life in Lehigh Acres, Whiting, NJ, Forked River, NJ, and Jersey City, NJ with her husband, Al who predeceased her in 2017. She was a mother, grandmother and a friend to all who were lucky enough to have known her. She was a devoted dog and pet lover, and until unable to care for one, she always had a beloved pet by her side. Most recent were her dogs Petey, Ricky and Davie.

Mary is predeceased by her husband, Al; son, Mark; Brothers: Jack and Frank, sister-in-law, Antoinette. Mary is survived by sons: Brian and Robert Collins, Daughters-in-law: Vicky, Teri and Kelly; sister-in-law, Karen as well as her grandchildren: Amanda, Michael, Jack, Sean, Ryan and Shannon.

Throughout her life, she was devoted to her family and friends. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, school volunteer, babysitter to her grandchildren, and so much more. She supported her family, friends and neighbors throughout her life. Her love and positive spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Mass will be at Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church on May 26th at 10 am followed by her ashes being placed to rest in the memorial garden.

Ashes will travel to New Jersey the week of May 8th to the 12th for various celebrations of life.
