Maria Tri (Nguyen) Brohen 75, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday morning April 9, 2025, she was surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Brohen for over 25 years. Maria was the daughter of the late Đông Nguyên and Lê Thi Nguyễn. She was born on October 10, 1949 and grew up in Vietnam before immigrating to the United States in 1972. She settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and resided there for over twenty years. She worked at Schoolhouse Candy Factory in Pawtucket for several years where she met most of her friends and her husband Michael Brohen. After a long courtship Maria and Michael were married in Las Vegas, Nevada in July 1995. She was also employed as a machine operator at the former Interpak, Co., Pawtucket, until her retirement.
Maria was a loving dedicated mother to her son Michael J Monteiro, and her stepson Michael Brohen Jr.
Maria loved to cook Vietnamese food while socializing with her friends. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, knitting, and home repair. She loved walking her dog Moi and recently playing with her 6 cats. She would always be up for an afternoon trip to the local Casino, with her friends and family earning her the nickname “Casino Lien”.
Maria and her husband Michael moved to Lehigh Acres, Florida in 2004 and enjoyed their time together in the sunshine.
She will be dearly missed by her son, Michael and his wife Aimee of Lehigh Acres, Florida; her stepson, Michael Brohen Jr. of Connecticut; her sister, brothers, several nieces, nephews all in Vietnam and her cousins & friends throughout the United States.
Her memorial service will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 at 10:00 AM.
