Linda Marie Hessler

Linda Marie Hessler, 85, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her family Friday, October 13, 2023 after a long illness. She was born on July 15, 1938 in Mount Healthy, OH, to the late Carl & Lois Hessler. The family moved to Fort Myers, FL when she was a child, where she resided for the remainder of her life. She was a graduate of Fort Myers High School, Class of 1956. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was raising her three sons whom she adored and was incredibly proud of. She was a member of Church of the Resurrection and all will remember her as the fiercest prayer warrior. She knew and loved our Almighty God and all who knew her, knew she had a place in His kingdom when He called her home.

Linda loved to read, grow orchids, and travel; she saw many parts of the world with both family and friends, but her most favorite trips were those that included her kids and grandkids. As a member of the Pilot Club of Fort Myers since 1991, she served as President for 3 terms, and Director and Treasurer many times. Linda was instrumental in the opening and continued support of The Pilot Scholarship House at FGCU, of which she served on the board for 5 years. She was also a member of the Fort Myers Republican Women’s Club.

Linda is survived by her three sons Steve (Stephanie), John (Diane), and Mark (Bonnie) Wiles; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Andrew (Michelle), Taylor (Kaleb), Madeline (Luke), Weston, Lucas, Jacob and Jeremy; great grandchildren Hayden, Warren, Bodhi and Arlie; sisters Stephanie (Leonard) Giles and Mary Strecker as well as nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A Celebration of Life and Christian Mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection Chapel, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr., Fort Myers, on Tuesday, October 24th at 11am. A reception will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall where the family will receive friends to celebrate a life well lived. Linda will be interred at Lee Memorial Park in a private family service.
