Lawrence Richard Gavin

Lawrence “Larry” Gavin, 89, of Fort Myers passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 13, 1927. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. Larry married Rita Stier on August 4, 1974 in Hinsdale, IL. He spend his career with Ace Hardware Corporation and retired as President of the corporation. He owned Gavin’s Ace Hardware stores in Fort Myers and Cape Coral.

Larry is survived by his wife Rita; his children: Richard, Rick (Marla), Ron (Laura), Randy (Kitty), John (Cindy) and Ron (Dawn); his daughters-in-law: Jody and Shari; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will take place 10:30 am Sunday, March 5, at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers.
