Karen G. Solek

Karen was born in Niagara Falls, New York, the daughter of John and Stella (Czekaj) Kot. Prior to moving to Fort Myers, Florida, she lived in Grand Island, New York.

Karen worked for over 20 years for Lee Health Home Health, a division of Lee Memorial Health System. She was a strong woman with a kind heart and an unwavering faith. Karen was an avid reader, loved dining out, shopping for others, and found great joy in giving various tokens of appreciation to those around her.

She is survived by her step-children Jeffrey Solek and wife, Ellen, Cynthia Coote and husband, Richard, Caron Poitras and husband, Gary, Brain Solek and wife, Shana, and Susan Solek, along with eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Karen is also survived by her cousins Kathleen Daley (Jack), Leo Sliski, Elizabeth Rajczak (Robert), and many grand and great nephews and nieces. Karen was predeceased by her cousin, Marie Franckowiak (Terrance).

SAFELY HOME

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;

Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,

Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

Safely home in Heaven at last.

And He came Himself to meet me

And with Jesus’ arm to lean on,

Could I have one doubt or dread?

Then you must not grieve so sorely,

For I love you dearly still:

Try to look beyond earth’s shadows,

Pray to trust our Father’s Will.

There is work still waiting for you,

So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth –

You shall rest in Jesus’ land.

When that work is all completed,

He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

Oh, the joy to see you come!
