Coco was an accomplished academic. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, followed by a Master’s in Chemical Engineering. After working as an engineer for 15 years, he earned a Fulbright scholarship and went on to obtain a second Master’s degree in Energy and Resources and later on a PhD in Operations Research. He went on to work as an Economist at the US Department of Agriculture for 20 years, where he wrote numerous publications and spoke at various conferences. Coco was highly regarded for his knowledge and intellect. His family could always find him sitting on his leather chair reading a book or newspaper.
Coco was a man of integrity who worked hard to provide the best life and opportunities for his family. He leaves behind his dedicated and loving wife Rocio, his three daughters (Marie, Katya and Anne Marie), as well as his step children (Mario, Jessica, Max and Mauricio) whom he loved as his own. He is also survived by his sister Silvia and 16 grandchildren. Coco was a wise man who provided love and guidance to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed giving them advice on what college to attend or what career to pursue.
Coco loved art, and painting was one of his favorite things to do. He liked to travel and learning about new cultures, he shared this interest with his children. He enjoyed dancing with his wife Rocio, usually ringing in a new year on the dance floor. Coco was deeply loved by many and he will be missed greatly.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St John XXIII Catholic Church, 13060 Palomino Ln, Fort Myers, Florida 33912, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM.
