James Allan “Jim” Ferrill, 88, of Fort Myers passed away at home on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Jim was born in Oak Park, Illinois on November 12, 1932 to Earle James Ferrill and Genevieve Fennell Ferrill. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 134, Chicago, Illinois. Jim served in the U.S. Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean War.
James is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Susan Judge Lindseth Ferrill; daughter, Deb Ferrill Hansen (Larry) of Illinois; son, Glen Ferrill (Peggy) of Illinois; son, John Lindseth (Cathie) of California; sister, Nancy Steffens Hackett (Tom) of Wisconsin; brother, Ron Ferrill (Jody) of South Carolina; grandchildren, Geoff Hansen (Sara), Jenny Hansen Dvonk (Dave), Kimberly Ferrill, Nicole Ferrill Birkner, Christopher Brush, Laura Pontarelli (John), Jonathan Pontarelli (Chrissy), Mark James Pontarelli, Julia Marie Pontarelli, Kelsey Lindseth, Annalise Lindseth, Bridgit Lindseth, Michael Ferrill, Max Herskovitz and Joey Eads; seven great grandchildren; 17 nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Jay S. Judge (Deborah) and sister-in-law, Rita Itera Clehouse (Richard).
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Terracina and daughter, Kathleen Ferrill Herskovitz.
Jim could tell the same story many different ways and would make you smile every time. He loved to fly his Grumman airplane.
There will be a funeral mass at St. Columbekille Catholic Church in Fort Myers at a future date. Following the mass Jim’s remains will be laid to rest in the church garden. A celebration of life will take place in Illinois at a later date.
