Captain Horace "Matt" Matthews was a resident of Fort Myers since 2005. Matt was born December 25, 1938 and "flew west" on January 10, 2015. Matt was a decorated Airforce Vietnam Veteran. Matt was a commercial airline pilot for 33 years. He is survived by his wife Linda Matthews and daughter Kelley (Tom) Collins, Kelly Matthews and Susanne Matthews, four grandaughters, two sisters Marie Diets and Shirley Rustin both from Georgia. Matt was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Rebecca Rustin. Funeral servies will be held at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors project.
