

Harry Robert Lapham passed away on August 27, 2014 at 81 years old. Harry was a long-time resident of Cape Coral, FL. He was born in Towanda, PA to Jesse Burnett and Mary Virginia (Kenning) Lapham. Harry received his BS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s degree from Syracuse University. Harry was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a US Army photo interpreter. He was a former educator in broadcasting and science and later a small business owner. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottages on Lake Youghigheny in PA and Lake Wateree in SC. An avid aviation buff, Harry was a member of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Assocation) for many years. He greatly enjoyed plane rides with his son John.
Harry is survived by his children, Jennifer Blackmon (Tracy), John Lapham (Christina), and Rebecca Wheeler (Bryan). He was also blessed with four grandchildren, Rachel and Emily Blackmon, Kaleb and Sean Wheeler.
A memorial service will be held at Hodges Kiser Funeral Home, 9231 Cypress Lake Dr., Ft. Myers, FL 33919 on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the EAA “Give Wings” program at www.eaa.org. Info 239-481-4341.
