Fay is predeceased by her parents, Harold and Edith McDonald, and her brothers, Neil, Jack, Jimmy, and Harold McDonald.
Fay is survived by her beloved husband, John Jack T. Farina, her children, Joell Farina, and Jack (Carol) Farina, her grandchildren, Brianna Valdes, Lauren Farina, and Jamie Farina, her great granddaughter, Rose Seiger, and her sister, Beverley Cassidy.
Fay met her husband, Jack, in detention. Even though they were both in detention for being late their timing was perfect! This serendipitous encounter blossomed into a loving partnership that spanned 58 years of marriage and 64 years together.
Fay's greatest passion was her family. She dedicated herself to raising her children and cherishing her grandchildren, always ensuring that gatherings were filled with warmth, laughter, and, of course, her delicious home-cooked meals. Her famous lasagna and chicken cutlets, along with her Italian dishes, were much appreciated at family gatherings.
Music was another joy in Fay’s life. She enjoyed attending concerts, having seen Barry Manilow perform live, and she had a special fondness for Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, and, of course, Peter, Paul, and Mary, whom she grew to love because of her darling Jack. Fay’s infectious laughter and warm hugs left a lasting impression on all who knew her, and she never missed an opportunity to express her love, often ending conversations with a heartfelt "I love you" and a big hug.
Together, Fay and Jack shared a love for travel, embarking on countless adventures that took them to Mexico, various islands, and St. Martin. They eventually found their paradise on Marco Island, Florida, before retiring in Fort Myers, where they continued to enjoy life together.
In her professional life, Fay served as a communication manager in the healthcare industry for 18 years, a role in which she excelled and made meaningful connections. Outside of work, she had a flair for shopping and home décor, earning praise for her impeccable taste in both style and aesthetics.
Fay leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Fay will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
