Eunice Parks Griswold of Fort Myers, Florida passed away after a 16 month battle with pancreatic cancer and related illnesses on August 3, 2018. Eunice was born in Boone County, Iowa on July 29,1939 and grew up in nearby Ames, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Harrison Parks, Blanche Myrtle Clouser and sister Ada Tyler. Eunice was one of four daughters in her family.
Eunice was married 55 years to, and survived by her loving husband Charles Frank (Chuck) Griswold. Together, they had 2 children, Christina Marie Griswold of Boynton Beach, Florida and Charles Kevin (Chaz) Griswold of Cape Coral, Florida.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Florence Steel, Shirley Brewer and several nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Eunice followed her sister Ada to Florida after visiting her on vacation. It was then that she met a young man who belonged to a drag racing club. Chuck asked her to be his bride on February 14, 1963 and they were married shortly after on August 3, 1963.
Initially considering becoming a teacher in Iowa, Eunice instead attended business college and began a career in banking and related industries after moving to Florida. She held many job positions in her banking career from branch manager and retiring as a mortgage closer and compliance specialist . She was a member and President of Kiwanis as well as volunteering for the multitude of events her children participated in growing up.
Eunice was loved by many and will be missed tremendously.
