Erik Robert Swanson

The struggle is over, no more pain and suffering. Peace at last.

Erik Robert, the son of Brooks and Linda (Wahlstrom) Swanson, was born on June 6, 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He and his family moved from Hastings, Minnesota to Fort Myers, Florida in 1990. Following his graduation from Estero High School with the class of 1997, Erik went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2001.

Erik loved spending time with his family and was an incredible son, brother and uncle.

He was a devoted and compassionate friend to many and willing to help anyone in need.

Erik was a loyal, tried and true lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Florida Gators.

He enjoyed all sports, especially football, the outdoors and nature.

Erik started to seek a spiritual path within the past few years to better himself and find inner peace. He was always willing to share his findings with those around him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Genevieve Wahlstrom, and Robert and Myra Swanson. He was also preceded in death by his beloved cat “Nati”.

Erik is survived by his loving parents, Brooks and Linda Swanson, his sister, Angela (Matt) Eberhard, his nephew and niece, Dylan and Ava Eberhard and his step-grandmother, Sandra Swanson.

Service will be held at Estero United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 5, 2021 . Visitation at the church will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the service to start at 11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life will continue at Lakes Park Lodge from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with music and food.

In lieu of flowers, Erik’s family requests donations in his memory to be sent directly to St. Matthew’s House (www.stmatthewshouse.org).
