Erick Alberto Cheverez-Rivera

Erick Alberto Cheverez-Rivera, 31, of Lehigh Acres, FL passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024. He was born in Manati, Puerto Rico on October 28, 1992 to Heriberto Cheverez and Wanda Lee Rivera. He is the second eldest to his three brothers, Anthony, Cesar, and Bryan. Erick was a wonderful and fun brother. His two younger brothers looked up to him.

Erick met the love of his life, Lisette Mata while attending Varsity Lakes Middle School. The two began dating in 2008. It is said that their connection began over a bag of Hot Cheetos. The two shared some wonderful memories and were excited to start their lives together. They were married in Lehigh Acres on July 4th, 2020 surrounded by immediate family.

Erick and Lisette couldn’t wait to start a family of their own. Their children, Eian, Lucas, and Ezekiel mean the world to them. Erick was an amazing, fun, and loving father to his three boys. They were the light of his eye.

Erick had a soft spot for his big, furry friend, Hercules. He treated him like the valuable family member he was. From the family walks to the sleepy cuddles, Erick and Hercules had a bond like no other.

Throughout middle/ high school and into adulthood, Erick had some of the best friends. Erick, Brandon, and Andrew were practically inseparable. From date nights at Canton House, to trips to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, to working together at Galiana, they were together through it all.

Everyone who knew Erick knew how much he loved cars. His g35 is like no other and is definitely one of a kind just as he was. Not only did Erick love working on cars, but he also loved to watch street races, ride ATVs, dirt bikes, motorcycles. His favorite car was a Toyota Supra MK4.

Erick will always be remembered for being an amazing, helpful, and humble soul. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. His friends and family will miss his caring ways and that amazing contagious smile of his. We couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father, son, brother, and friend and will miss Erick every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Erick was preceded in death by his grandfather, Reynaldo Rivera, and is survived by his wife, Lisette, children, Eian, Lucas, and Ezekiel, parents, Heriberto and Wanda Lee Cheverez and brothers, Anthony, Cesar, and Bryan.

A visitation for Erick will be held Friday, January 19th from 10:30 - 12pm at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913, followed by a funeral service from 12pm.
