Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Hutchinson died December 5, 2020 at Caloosa Harbour in Fort Myers, FL. She was 91 years old. She grew up in a small town in southern Maryland and trained as an elementary school teacher, obtaining a Master’s degree from George Washington University. After retiring from teaching, she founded an early learning center for pre-school children, which she finally sold in 1986. Shortly after that, she and her husband Jim moved to Fort Myers. She was active as a member of St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and volunteered at Lee County Memorial Hospital and with hospice. She is survived by sons James and Thomas Hutchinson, daughter Judith Richards, four grandsons, and seven great-grandchildren. Her life will be remembered at a mass at St Vincent de Paul on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 11:00 am and will be interred in a family-only ceremony at Lee Memorial Park.
