Eli Abad, 32, of Fort Myers and formerly of Jersey City, New Jersey and Staten Island, New York passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. He was born in New York in July 1990 to Manuel and Lillian Abad.
Eli worked for the United States Postal Service. Before moving to Florida, he worked as a security officer at Madison Square Garden. Eli was a people person with a good heart. He was easy to talk to and was liked by all who knew him.
Eli is survived by his parents, Manuel and Lillian; his brothers: Steven (Jenny) Adorno, Alexander Abad and Tyler Abad; his nieces, Kennedy Lee and Declyn Grace and his maternal grandmother, Alejandrina Hassan. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Amanda Lee Abad and his grandparents, Ramon Alvarez and Angelica Bosquez.
Visitation will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida on Wednesday, June 21st from 3:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 5:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Abad Family kindly requests that donations be made to Elijah’s school, the Henry Viscardi School on Long Island. The Henry Viscardi School offers an accredited, academic program for children ages 3 – 21 with physical disabilities and medical issues. Donations can be made online at viscardicenter.org.
