Edward was born on March 20, 1938, in New York City, NY to Edward Watts, Sr., and Eva Mae Foster Watts. He was an only child. His family moved to Jacksonville, FL where he attended Brevard County Schools. Edward later moved to Miami, FL where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After graduating high school, Edward attended Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL.
He met the love of his life, Cheryl Jenkins, in Miami, FL, and they matriculated together to Fort Myers, FL where they began to live and raise their family. The Watts family became members of Mount Olive AME Church, where they worshiped for many years.
For most of his life, Edward worked in the transportation industry, and he retired in 2004.
Edward was proceeded in death by his parents. He will forever be remembered by his loving wife, Cheryl, and their children: Kimberly (Charles, Sr.), Ron (Natasha), Patricia (Terell), James (Stacy), Lona (Darrell, Sr.), Joseph (Glendal), Karen, Teresa, Michelle, and Gail. Grandchildren: Adam, Keith, Brindan, Chauncey, Darrell, Jordan, Aaron, Joshua, Raani, Edward, Kirsten, Laila, Ashley, Keenan, Amoree, Aaron, Jarrett: Four great-grands, and a host of relatives and friends.
The visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, and the Celebration of Edward’s Life will begin at 11:00 am. Rev. J. Givens will be officiating. Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
