Edward E. Payne III

Edward E. Payne III, age 81, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022. Edward was born July 29, 1940 in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. His is survived by his wife, Rosmeris V. Payne; children, Kimberly Plant and Edward Payne IV; grandchildren, Jared and Matthew; Nieces, Nelsy Paola, Lisset, Erika and Kati; Nephews, Alfredo Vasquez, Angel, Darwin; mother-in-law, Fabiola Mendoza; brothers-in-law, Orlanis, Wilfrido, Benjamin, Edwin; sisters-in-law, Rosario, Gloria, Liliana, Claudia, Hannia, Nelsy, Lili, Genny Payne; and dear friends, Shanna del Castillo, Jessica Fuentes, Beatrize Falcon, Beverly Moore and Angela Adames, Norma, Carmen, Hector, Saul, Maria Tereza, Jane and Duddy.

Eddie always had a friendly face, was ready to chat and help everyone. He was instrumental in getting the No Parking signs posted around the community grounds. Eddie added that fun energy around the pool, especially with his cool swim trunks with the palm trees and American flag on them.

He adored Rose and spoke often of his trips to Aruba and visiting family. He shared many stories of growing up on Rhode Island and his children. Eddie loved his New England Patriots, his Tom Brady jersey, and western movies. You could find Eddie always cleaning and shining his car. Eddie's recommendation to The Clam Bake seafood restaurant has started a CLMCA following which will continue to be enjoyed by many. His smile, stories and person will be dearly missed by his CLMCA friends, Father Patrick, Father Jose, Enrica Carey, Bill and Shara Grant, Jim Herbert, Donna Lloyd, Susan and Brian Merkle, Pat Middleton, Bill and Laura Rice, Steve and Geraldine Skerritt, Hans and Francien Verboon, Georgette and Mark VonKeitz, Lorna Yoder, and many others.
