It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edna Ffrench, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Mom passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and a well-lived life.
Born on May 2, 1931, in Clarendon, Jamaica, Edna was a woman of grace, strength, and compassion. She dedicated her life to providing a better future for her family, always striving for the greater good. Her unconditional love, unwavering support, and guidance shaped the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Edna was not only a mother to her children but also a source of determination and an unrelenting force of nature. She taught us the importance of perseverance, justice, and resilience. Her laughter, wisdom, and the warmth of her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Throughout her life, Edna had a profound love for justice, human rights, and various humanitarian causes. Her strong religious faith was her guiding force and remained unshakable. She read her Bible daily and held several verses close to her heart. Mom was generous with her friends, always lending a listening ear, and made the world a brighter place for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughter Joan Marcus, son Paul Salongo, and daughter Sonia Ffrench-Pitts; daughter-in-law Donna Salongo, son-in-law Jeffrey Pitts; grandchildren, Christian and Jayde Marcus and Elijah and Leia Salongo. She also leaves behind several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. We will honor her memory by living our lives to the fullest and by faith.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, Florida from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. This will be a celebration of life for Edna Ffrench.
