Earl is the second child of the late Leonard and Enid Barrett. He received his early education at the Fyffes Pen Elementary School in Jamaica W.I. He pursued further education at Cobbla Camp where he acquired the skill as an electrician. He worked very hard as an electrician in his home country of Jamaica. He was very passionate about this trade and would go the extra mile to make his clients extremely satisfied. Earl migrated to the Bahamas and sought to improve on his skill when he enrolled in The College of the Bahamas where he graduated with an Associates Degree in Electrical Installation, hence, working as a Licensed Electrician. He had an insatiable appetite for knowledge which prompted him to pursue numerous online courses.
Earl enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling and playing word games. His many travels took him to countries all over the world. His vast souvenir collection attests to this fact. Apart from collecting souvenirs he would learn the history of the places and people he visited. Hence, he has a wealth of knowledge which he enjoyed sharing with people. No conversation with Earl would end without him sharing his experiences of the various countries he visited.
Apart from working as an electrician, Earl worked with the Caribbean Cruise Line for many years leading up to his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed those moments which would give him the opportunity to visit several countries and meet people of various nationalities. This experience might have prompted him to learn other languages apart from his native tongue, English.
Earl is an ardent Christian who actively participated in the work of the Lord. He was an ordained minister of the gospel who endeavored to please God in his daily life. He did not have a church building where he ministered from, instead he would evangelize using his online platforms as well as setting the examples for others to emulate.
He exuded humility, patience and love. He was always giving of his time and talent to others. Earl loved his family unconditionally. The love and respect that he gave to his family and to others were reciprocated by all of whom he came in contact with.
Earl is survived by his six siblings, namely, Mavis, Derine, Stephen, Juanita, Merrick, and Bevon, nieces, nephews and countless number of other family members and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by parents, Leonard Barrett and Enid Barrett and brother Leslie Barrett.
