Donna "Midge" Vause

Donna (Midge) Vause, 75, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2012 to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Auburn, Kentucky on January 5th, 1937 to parents Joe and Mattie Smith, and grandparents Neale and Mary Belle Canler. She moved from Auburn to Fort Myers in 1955 at the age of 18 and married Chester Vause of East Fort Myers.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who delighted in bicycle riding, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Russell Park Baptist Church in East Fort Myers for all of her life, spending many happy years of service to the Lord there while making treasured memories of love, fellowship, and friendships that would last a lifetime.

Donna worked at Tice Elementary School lunchroom for 5 years, and then at the Ohio Medical Products Plant in East Fort Myers for 23 years.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mattie Canler Smith, her brother Thomas Smith, and her sister Liz Massey.

She leaves behind many loved ones to cherish her memory - HUSBAND (of 56 years), Chester Vause

CHILDREN, Karen Vause Green(husband Robert), Carol Vause Brooks(husband Billy), and Jeff Vause.

GRANDCHILDREN, Katie Green Norton(husband Chris), Robert Green(wife Krystal), Travis Green(wife Briana), Betsy Brooks, Brittany Brooks, Amy Sue Brooks, and Jacob Brooks. GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, Miley Freeman and Sawyer Green. SISTERS, Pearl Thorsen and Margaret Davis, AND a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 29th at 1:00 p.m., with visitation preceding the funeral from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Lee Memorial Park on State Rd. 82 in East Ft. Myers. Services will be directed by Reverend Darrell Stephenson.
