David Ross Shepherd

David Ross Shepherd, born on August 29, 1944 in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Dorothy Muffett and Willard Shepherd, entered his heavenly home with Christ at age 73 on July 18, 2018 in Ft. Myers, Florida from a 9 year brave battle with cancer. He was a Kent State graduate in Business. He was preceeded in death by his step- daughter Alicia. David was survived by his wife Marylynn and his step-son Chip, and his former wife Cheryl along with daughters Georgette, Nicole and Wendy, and son-in-laws, Todd and Bill. He had 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Although he didn't have any siblings, Dave's cousins were like his brothers and sisters. Dave enjoyed golfing, water-skiing and running. During his career he developed many housing communities in West Akron, Cuyahoga Falls and Barberton. He also developed several retail and commercial buildings in the Akron area. He also owned several successful small businesses. He was an educator and leader to all those he worked with, and he loved more than anything being a mentor to his children doing the family business. Dave loved the Lord and attended the Word of Life Church in Ft. Myers Florida. A celebration of his life will occur later in the month of August, all family and friends will be informed later of the details.
