Cheryl Spotts, 46, went to be with our Lord, January 22, 2018. She was born August 10, 1971 to Douglas and Patricia Spotts. She graduated from Cinnaminson High School in 1990. During those high school years she played softball, basketball and soccer. She was a member of the state championship soccer team her senior year and was selected for the All State Softball team. Academically, Cheryl was also chosen as a Cinnaminson High School representative for the Girls’ State honors program.
She graduated from Susquehanna University in 1994 with a BS in Business and minor in Athletic Training. Cheryl was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and was a student athletic trainer for both intramural and varsity teams. She loved skiing and became a ski instructor in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Her professional working career began in sales within the telecom industry, she was also a licensed financial specialist in banking, and most recently was a sales and service representative with AmeriQuest in their Naples office. She was past president of the Reflection Lakes Condominium Association.
Cheryl actively pursued many sports in her daily life, among which were kickboxing, boxing, and co-ed softball as well as competing in The Captiva Triathlon. She coached girls soccer teams in the Fort Myers area and was most active in the Women’s Soccer League of Fort Myers which included being goalkeeper for team White Caps. Cheryl especially cherished the friendships she made through her soccer team, who in many respects were her second family.
Cheryl was a loyal follower of the Philadelphia Eagles through good times and bad. She enjoyed spending time in Bermuda where she would scuba dive and snorkel. She loved fishing with her dad, going crabbing with her sister Stacey and being near or on the beach.
She is loved and missed by her mother Patricia and partner Robert, sister Stacey, great aunt Anne Shintay, uncles and aunts Richard and Bev Spotts, Jim and Betty Leanderson, Tom and Mary Walsh, as well as her cousins, Richard, Kevin and Lynnette, Erik, Matthew, Megan and Jeff, and her many teammates, friends, co-workers, and neighbors at Banyan Bay and Crown Colony.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, 15840 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33908, with the memo line reading “Counseling Center” or to www.CherylMemorial.com, a site created to accept donations towards the Women’s Soccer League memorial bench and a scholarship fund in Cheryl’s honor.
