She was born on July 8,1938 to parents Ira and Katherine Hamilton in the parish of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She was well educated and completed the necessary requirements. She met the love of her life Roy while working as a private school teacher. Celeste then had a job working for a bus company called J.O.S. They were married in 1963 and out of that union had two sons Patrick and Winston.
She migrated to the USA to join her husband in 1968 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) who had went there to pursue an opportunity that would enhance his career as a tailor.
When she was able to settle down with her husband and children she began to pursue a career in nursing and was very successful in getting her register nursing title. She worked in the Forbes Health System for many years until her retirement. She was also an accomplished seamstress and cook, instrumental in the migration of relatives and friends to the USA, loving mother, wife, and grandmother, and willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Her faith was enhanced by church families such as Rodman Street Baptist Church, Lincoln Avenue Church of God, and New Life Ministries in Pittsburgh, where she was shown much love and appreciation.
Celeste and her husband moved to Fort Myers, Florida around 2011. She then continued her faith with the Metro Christian Fellowship Of The Church Of God, Inc until eventually returning to the faith that was instilled in her and started attending Lehigh Seventh Day Adventist Church. She stated that "The best part of her ancestry is the foundation that her parents (especially her dad) gave her and her siblings. He was a true model of a Christ follower in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the district of Huntly Castle in St Elizabeth Jamaica. Thank God I made my way back to the lord in the SDA. I want to see my parents, siblings, family members, and church family when Jesus comes again. What a Joy that it will be. Amen"
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Katherine Hamilton, her brother Vincent Hamilton and her sister Lynette Hamilton.
Celeste is survived by her husband, Roy Lindo; her sons: Patrick (Karen) Lindo and Winston Lindo; grandchildren: Brandon Lindo and Kayla (Caleb) Portis; great grandchildren: Charles Portis and Caleb Portis Jr.; sisters: Eulah Simpson and Violet Hamilton and a host of in laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
