Brianna Alexis Thurmond

Born in Long Island, NY, Bri was a bright light, strong woman and kind soul to the many lives she touched. She served admirably for 6 years in the United States Army and so determined, she "fast tracked" as they say, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant posthumously. She loved relaxing on the beach, soaking in the sun, drinking a warm cup of coffee while watching romantic comedies and sharing laughs with her comrades, friends, and loved ones. Bri always kept her nails fly but was also known to enjoy the simple things in life, like watching sports with her husband John, strolling around Target, or her favorite thing - spending time with family. She was a proud Soldier, wife and mother to her daughters Rosie and Ramsey and bonus mom to Zion and Aubrey.

She is survived by her loving husband John; children Rosie, Ramsey, Zion, Aubrey; parents Ellen and John; grandparents Sofia and Lourdes and sister Alyssa.

A visitation for Brianna will be held Thursday, March 16th from 1pm till 3pm at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913. A funeral service be held at 3pm.

A 9:30am burial with military honors will occur Friday, March 17th at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
