Angela was a kind, thoughtful, and loving person determined to live life to the fullest and embody her favorite phrases, “One Love” and “Be Kind.” She was extremely outgoing and vibrant—much like the beautiful sunflowers she loved! You could find her involved in many volunteer and community initiatives over the years. Her many passions included Henry’s Angels (an organization she founded in memory of her husband to support cancer patients and their families), teaching, concerts, music, theatre and the arts, archaeology, and traveling throughout the world. Angela climbed one of the tallest temples in the Mayan world at Tikal in Guatemala, and especially enjoyed her trips on the Flogging Molly Salty Dog music cruises as well as many trips to Ireland. She loved spending time with her Mom’s dog Lily, seeing her favorite bands live— U2, Flogging Molly, and many many others— as well as having fun following the University of South Florida (USF) Bulls and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football teams. Angela also enthusiastically ran a concert/music blog, Live & Amplified, where she documented her music adventures. She was famous for her joy of collecting concert setlists. Angela especially valued spending time with family and friends in all she did, and was often busy planning or taking us on a fun adventure!
Angela was born in Fort Myers on May 28, 1976, and lived there until moving to Tampa in 1997 to attend USF. She married Henry, the love of her life, in 2000. Beyond earning her Associate’s degree from Edison Community College in Fort Myers, she also was a proud alumni of USF where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications in 1999, and later, while teaching full time, she also earned her Master of Arts in Reading Education in 2012. She was a Reading teacher at Greco Middle School, a Title I school in Hillsborough County, for 15 years and most recently taught Language Arts for Hillsborough Virtual School since 2020. Angela saw her students as her own children and started every class with “Good morning/afternoon beautiful people!”
