Gretchen Berg, 64, of Bullhead City, AZ sadly passed away on October 5, 2024, after a difficult battle with colorectal cancer. She was born July 11, 1960 in Encino, CA to her loving parents Bob and Ann Henry. Gretchen attended Birmingham High School and Pierce College before dedicating her life to early childhood education. Gretchen will always be remembered as a loving and selfless woman. She loved her work, especially her many years working with special needs children. Gretchen thoroughly enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, whether they were cooking, watching movies or just chatting. She also was an avid bowler, most recently bowling in the Queens league at Riverside Lanes Bowling Alley. She always looked forward to her league day, when she’d go hang out with her friends and throw her ball at some pins. Add in a glass of wine and some funny stories, she was as happy as a clam.
Gretchen has been reunited with her family that passed before, including parents Bob and Ann, and her brother Kevin. She will be forever be remembered by her longtime partner Barry; daughters Erica and Stephanie (John); grandchildren Aydan and Riley; brother Paul; sister Kristin (Tony); and her 3 grandpups Levi, Tilly and Chia whom she lovingly referred to as furbabies.
Celebrations of life will be held in Arizona and California, details still to come. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you get your colonoscopies done regularly and that you ask at least one more person in your life to do the same. We know Gretchen will be smiling down from above if her struggle can help prevent others from enduring the same.
