Zach was and is truly the sweetest soul to walk this earth. His generosity and caring nature is what made him so beautifully unique. He lit up every room he walked into and was that smile you could quite literally look up to as a friendly face in the hallways. 
 Zachary was the kind of person who would help you find the answer instead of giving you one ,
and that’s exactly what he did. Thank you for helping me pass geography Zach.. and so so much more. The amount of patience you still had after i said “ wait what ? “  over and over with your two AR books checked out on the table while calmly explaining the math lesson on the paper full of eraser holes from so many mess ups still blows my mind. You truly were a genius and everything you accomplished you could tell was was with your 100% . You were and are so so loved. Your beautiful soul will be forever missed but never ever forgotten. Zachary my friend we love and miss you dearly and will wear our hearts on our sleeves every day for you. We will do better and be better for those around us. We will do our best to add a little light back into the hallways.  We will hug those a little tighter. And kiss them a little longer. Thank you for presenting us with the true definition of love. May your soul rest in peace ❤️

We are so deeply saddened for your loss, we do remember meeting Zachary at Sherkston when he was a young boy and again this past summer when you stopped at Flying Bison Brewery. Beautiful boy.  Kathy and Larry were always letting us know what Zachary was up to and how gifted he was.  They were always so proud of him.

I just heard today about the passing of Zack. I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful son.  I remember playing with him in your back yard and looking at the photos and comments I am not surprised to see what a fine young man he became - and so tall! I love you both and although we haven't seen each other in years you are always in my thoughts. I will be praying for both of you through this terrible storm and Jason has my # if you need anything at all.

We are saddened at the loss of one of our outstanding youth volunteers,  Zachary (Zach) Serra. Zach came to Abandoned Pet Rescue because of his love of animals and desire to provide community service.  His tragic passing at the age of 18, has broken the hearts of countless people in our community.  

Zach enjoyed traveling across the world with his family, rooting for his favorite hockey and football teams, dishing up his international cuisine, and of course giving his time to Abandoned Pet Rescue.  Zach first volunteered at an event at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club. It was a rainy night, but he persevered to help the adoptable cats find homes and to help raise money to support the shelter.

He joined his Mom as volunteers at the summer Starlight Music Festival at Holiday Park week after week.  They became an integral part of the APR team at this community event with Zach always happy to be there and help out with loading the weekly food donations for the shelter.

He spent many a Saturday with his Dad at Pet Supermarket in Dania promoting our kittens up for adoption and helping to transport much needed pet food donations from various locations.  He shared his cats funny antics at home, showing his love for animals.

Zach was a dedicated volunteer who loved his cats and honored his commitment to service.  We will always remember him as a gentle giant with a kind soul, always willing to help out with a big smile!

There are not words to express how great it was to know Zak, from the time he was small he was such a kind soul, always having great adventures, and wise beyond his years.
His love for cooking exotic dishes for everyone to taste was so fun! He had such a talent and was not afraid to try new things.

I’m so sorry and heartbroken to hear about Zachary passing away. I met Zachary at Abandoned Pet Rescue. He and his dad would take some of our cats to Pet-supermarket. Zachary was a great young man. Sending you and your family my sincerest condolences. Zachary will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Zach was such a special soul. Watching his passion for history channeled into diplomacy skills at Model UN  was such a highlight for me as club sponsor and frequent field trip chaperone. I remember chatting with Zach as we searched for the committee rooms at the FIU conference in March 2020 (right before lockdown!) and thinking of him of wise beyond his years. 

Greatest condolences to the family. Myself and the FLHS MUN club will miss his presence greatly.

There are no words. Zach was in my classroom sixth hour this year for study hall, where I remained to do schoolwork. He was always the first one to arrive and so kind and so respectful. Although I cant believe I am saying good bye to you so soon. I have fond memories of watching you grow taller and taller. I have tried all week to find the words to fit, and there just isn't any.  I am so sorry for your loss.  So sorry for our loss.  He was a good kid. Will remember conversations with him around the Ren fest camp fires fondly.  Derrick and I  trying to trip him up with fake countries.  No matter if a group dinner at someone's house or Ren fest gatherings, he was always polite, pleasant, and will be missed.  I dont know what path this takes us all on, just know we are here with you. Gone way too soon, rest easy Zach.

Zachary was a brilliant and kind young man who was beyond his years. He was my student when he was in sixth grade. I have fond memories of him and the conversations we would have about history and the world. One time for a brain challenge, I called out the name of a country and he would tell us the capital. He knew them all! Zachary also shared a YouTube series with me that is called Crash Course World History and I still use in class to this day. I will always remember him and especially on days when I show the videos in class, he will be on my mind and in my heart.
