William Joseph "Padre" Doran, Jr. 81 of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and formerly of Sarasota, Florida passed away on December 6. 2015. peacefully in his sleep. Mr. Doran was born in Chicago on September 30, 1934 to William and Mabel Doran and graduated from the University of Tampa. He was then drafted into the U.S. Army, trained at Ft. Hood before being posted in Nuremberg, Germany for three years. Mr. Doran went on to become a Retail Buyer for Federated Department Stores and in his retirement years he worked at Red Lobster and the Hyatt Corporation, both in Sarasota, Florida. He later relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where he enjoyed an active retirement. William was an avid gardener, beach and nature lover and enjoyed the outdoor life together with his bulldog Winston. He was preceded in death by his son, William Joseph III. He is survived by his daughter Laura, son-in-law Martin, brother Edward and his wife Gina, nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Christopher, Margaret, Patrick and their children. In lieu of flowers, William requested that any remembrance be made to one of the following charities: The Audubon Society of South Florida, The National Hemophilia Foundation or Hospice by The Sea, Boca Raton, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
