A Joyous reunion happened in Heaven on September 24th, when Jesus met Shay at the
gates of Heaven as she left her pain behind and rejoined her Lord and Savior in paradise.
Here on earth our hearts are broken at the loss of Shay in our lives.
Shays reunion in paradise must have been Overwhelmingly Joyous, as she reunited with
her Mom and Dad, her brothers Dale and Verne, her niece Jenni and the rest of her family
who were no doubt waiting to greet her.
In 1970 I met Shay's younger brother Verne. Shay was living in Lake Geneva Wisconsin at
the time but between then and 1972 she moved to Florida to join the rest of her family. Shay
was one of my bridesmaids in our wedding when I married her brother Verne in 1975.
Shay and I became fast friends and we grew to be the best of friends, confidants
and sisters for the past 51 years. We have shared so much time together. We laughed together,
cried together and have been as close or closer than any two sisters can be.
I rejoice in Shays reunion in heaven and the shedding of her pain here on earth; but I hurt for the
loss of her in my life. Not very many days have gone by over all these years that we haven't spoken with each other and shared even the smallest things, like a new sauce that
she found while shopping or a recipe that one of us had tried. Tons of pictures of so many different
things that we shared, and stories of whatever was happening in our lives at the time.
When we were together in person the enjoyment and fun that we had was so much more than anything I could have imagined all those years ago, when thinking about what it would be like to have a sister-in-law. I will always remember and cherish all the junk shopping and antique shopping that we did; which everyone that knows Shay knows that those were two of her favorite kinds of shopping. I cherish the memories I have of all the dinners we either cooked together or had out in so many different restaurants. We always had such a Great time together. I will always remember and cherish the way that we supported each other when we lost her younger brother Dale and then Mom and Dad, my daughter and her niece Jenni and then her brother and my husband Verne. We leaned on each other so much. I can't even express in the right words how much I'm going to miss Shay; as so many of her friends will miss her as well.
Knowing that Shay is whole again and not in pain is the only good feeling that I have in losing her.
Fly high in Heaven Shay and Enjoy every moment of Love and Freedom with our family and with Jesus. I Know that you will. Thank you so much for so many years of your friendship, love and being
my sister. Thank you for your advice, your ear, and your shoulder any time I needed to vent or cry. I know that I gave you the same. I was blessed beyond words to have you as my sister.
Until we hug again... I Love you. Terri
Shay is survived by her younger brother Arni and sister-in-law Lynn. Her nieces Kristen and Kelly and nephews Kyle and Klayton. She's also survived by her sister-in-law Terri and nephew Verne Oscarson , III, as well as her great nieces and nephews. I would be remiss in not mentioning her beloved dog Annie who is now being cared for by one of Shay's closest friends.
As per Shays wishes, a memorial is being planned for her on what would have been her 78th birthday on June 2nd 2024. This will be a Memorial and a Celebration of Shays life, and the outstanding person that she was. Shay meant so much to so many and she will be dearly missed. More information will be forth coming as the date gets closer.
