Rosetta (Vernucci) Petreccia, age 82, of Fort Lauderdale, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by her husband and four children and in the hearts of those she loved and cherished most.
Born on January 29, 1941 in Guglionesi, Italy, Rosetta was the daughter of the late Angelo and Rosina Vernucci. On June 1, 1963, she wed Martino Petreccia. They shared in a loving and beautiful union blessed with true devotion and love for one another in a marriage of over 59 years until her passing. Rosetta was the matriarch of her home and cherished the moments as a homemaker to her loved ones. She loved the adventure of life and laughter. In her spare time she was known for her extraordinary skill as a cook, a dressmaker and a crocheter. She was meticulous in all she did, and very devoted. Rosetta was able to blend these virtues in her home as an excellent wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She held a very special bond for each one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosetta was a member of the Italian American Civic League where she served as the Seargant of Arms and she led the club in prayer before any events. Her main focus was being involved in her family where she prepared the delicious meals of her Italian Heritage. She loved dancing and singing and spending time with her friends. A devout Catholic, Rosetta was a parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Rosetta is survived by her husband Martino Petreccia; her daughters, Teresa and Rossana; her sons and daughters-in-law, Rocco and Raquel and Angelo and Danae; her grandchildren, Shannon and Scott, Devin and Matthew, Taylor and David, Corey, Sydney and Cullen, Cameran and Kevin, Carlin and Rylee, Sawyer and Christopher, and Christina and Maia; great grandchildren, Parker, Raylan, Devin Peirce, Grant, Colton, Ramsey, Ayden, Kai, Kalea, Charlee, Martino, Rowan, McKinley, Finley, Collins and Patton. Also surviving are her sister Maryanne and her brother Giuseppe and his wife AnnaMaria. Rosetta, was predeceased by her parents and her in-laws.
Rosetta will be truly missed by all who knew her, her smile, courage and bond with her family was admired by all!
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 at the KRAEER - FAIRCHILD FUNERAL HOME, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale. Rosetta's funeral service will commence in Friday, April 28, 2023 at 1:00 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place at 3:00 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
