She was born on November 11, 1922, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, to the late Juan and Matilde Sepulveda but was raised by her oldest sister (Mrs. Rosa Orta, deceased) and her family, after both her parents passed away when she was only six years old. Being the baby sister, of eleven siblings, they all took good care of her upbringing. After graduation from Carolina High School (Carolina, Puerto Rico) in 1939 she attended the School of Nursing in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, for one year when she realized that it was not her calling.
Her undergraduate education was st the University of Puerto Rico where she graduated with a B.S. in Education with a major in English.
Was married to Diego A. Becerra III on June 23, 1942, during World War II; a marriage that lasted till her passing for almost 69 years on March 5, 2011.
One of her beloved conversations was talking about her life when she was working for the US Department of State, Division of Foreign Service, during times of war and after (1942-1952).
She loved all the places they lived, St. Thomas VI, Panama, Venezuela, Trinidad, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Spain. She kept good memories of all the places that she called "her home". She was very proud of her duties and for being an official member of the Foreign Service of the United States of America.
Was a member of the Lions Club International, where she held different positions as the First Lady when her husband, Diego, among holding other positions became the President of the Lions Club, Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. One of the most charitable organizations under their gavel for many years; until they moved to Florida to spend the retirement years close to her family.
Rosa is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Diego, her daughters and husbands, Ivette B. Hutchinson (Robert, deceased) and Ivonne M Becerra; her son and wife, Diego and Maria Becerra; seven grandchildren; Luz Iris Ruiz (Emilio), Jose L. Aspron (Esther), Mayra J. Gonzalez, Ivonne Rodriguez (Angel), Carlos J. Zavala (Sherley, Naisha Becerra, Diego Alberto Becerra (Isabel) and fourteen grandchildren: Patricia, Natalia, Tahir,, Mayra (Nani), Joseluisito, Andrea, Luis Samuel, Emily Juliette, Angel Gabriel, Luis Andres, Karelis, Karel, Diego Samuel y Maya. In addition to her parents and siblings she was preceded in death by her, always remembered and beloved daughter Mayra Victoria Becerra-Gonzalez (1944-1969).

Thanks to the nurses and staff of Vitas Innovative Hospice in Home Care that help us take care of our mom in her final days. Our special thanks to Stacey and Sherryl from Integrity, whom devoted themselves in taking care of our mother like she were theirs, with the love and professionalism that only the combination of knowledge and true love could walk us into the reality of facing the process of death.
