On Saturday, August 29, 2020, Richard Blystone, Vietnam Veteran, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 76.
Richard was born on February 7, 1944 in Moon Township, PA to Alfred and Virginia Blystone. He is survived by his wife, Dianne Peterson and 3 children; Cindy Panagiotatos, Shelley Erasmus and Scott (Heather) Blystone. He also leaves behind his brother Bob Blystone, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild whom he loved and was extremely proud.
Richard is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the 5th Special Forces Group as a Green Beret and was a two time Purple Heart Recipient. He grew up in Pittsburgh where he developed a passion for cars, sports and all things Pittsburgh Steelers. His love for sport led him to a brief boxing career where he represented his hometown of Pittsburgh and held the Golden Gloves Title. Whether he was coaching a team on the field or running plays with kids in the neighborhood, whom often referred to him as Mr. B, sharing his passion for the game brought him joy and we know he will continue routing for his Steelers from above.
