Rebeca Rose Davila, 20, passed away July 22, 2020 in Lantana, Florida. She was born March 11, 2000, at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. She was the second daughter of Gloria Davila, sister to Jasmin and Sofia, and fiancee to Marques Spann. Rebeca had a heart of gold, she was incredibly beautiful and had a multi-faceted personality. She was an avid athlete who played every sport, and she won numerous awards including; Homecoming Queen, most athletic and most likely to be famous. She was an aspiring model and Captain of her modeling group.
From the day Rebeca was born, everything about her was sweet, kind and beautiful. Rebeca would take in stray or hurt animals and she would nurse them back to health as if they were her own children. She was looking forward to eventually becoming a mother herself and would’ve been the best mom. Everyone who came in contact with Rebeca was infected with her love and compassion. She was that one person you could always count on to defend you and to be there during the hardest of times.
She graduated from Boynton Beach High School and was attending Palm Beach State College. She was an EEG Tech and was working towards becoming a Nurse. Rebeca was the most courageous and brave person we have ever encountered. She selflessly gave her life to try to protect her sister - Sofia was the apple of Rebeca’s eye and they were inseparable. Rebeca you give us strength to keep moving forward. We love you and will miss you dearly forever. Rest in paradise sweetheart.
Sofia Lisete Davila, 19, of Lantana, Florida passed away July 22, 2020. She was born June 15, 2001, at Palmetto Hospital in Miami, Florida. She was the youngest daughter of Gloria Davila, and sister to Jasmin and Rebeca. Sofia was an All Star athlete, granddaughter, great granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, best friend and simply an absolutely incredible person. Sofia had an infectious smile that would light up any room. People were automatically at ease with her, she would instantly gain their trust and she was a person they could count on to make them feel better when they were down. Sofia played many sports throughout her life; she won 5 gold medals in gymnastics when she was just 8 years old. She played Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Softball and was a phenomenal Runner who would always push her teammates to achieve their best.
Sofia graduated from Atlantic Senior High School and was attending Palm Beach State College. She hoped to follow in the footsteps of her Mom and Grandma and become a Respiratory Therapist. She loved helping anyone and everyone, she always wanted everyone to get along and just be happy. Sofia’s absence will have a tremendous impact on all of us for the rest of our lives, but her deeds and infectious personality will never be forgotten. We love you Sofia and you will always be in our hearts. Rest in Paradise Princess.
Rebeca and Sofia’s spirit will live on through the love they had for their mother Gloria Davila.
