Born March 22, 1933 to Cleveland Nevers and Gertrude Morales Nevers in St. Ann, Jamaica, Pauline was raised on Canterbury Farm and graduated from St. Hilda's High School in Brown's Town. She earned a degree in nursing from University of the West Indies .
In 1956 she married Dr. Emerson James and a year later moved to the Turks and Caicos Islands for his new medical post at Grand Turk Hospital. There in 1962 Pauline organized and produced the first Miss Turks and Caicos Islands beauty contest.
They returned to Jamaica in 1963 and over the years Pauline held positions with Girls' Town, The Jamaica School of Music and was Chief of Chaperones for the Miss Jamaica Beauty Contest in 1969 and 1970.
The couple divorced and Pauline eventually came to the United States. She married William Anderson and settled in Lauderdale Lakes. She was pre-deceased by William in 2006.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Anne, grandchildren Catherine and Matthew, great- grandchildren Jonah and Noelle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
