Paulette, who is affectionately known as Fay, was born in a little district called Litchfield, in the Parish of Trelawney, Jamaica WI. She was the first child of Ms. Gwendolyn Ellis and Mr. Wilfred Rowe.
Paulette grew up with her grandmother Miss Consie and her Aunt Marlene while her mother moved to Kingston to seek employment, needless to say, these two were a handful for her. Miss Consie passed away in November of 2013, at the age of a hundred and one years-old and before doing so, she taught us well, as she would take to church every Sunday, where we gained knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Due to this knowledge, we are who we are in Christ today.
Paulette fell in love with Mr. Clifton Johnson (Clive) to whom she was married to. This union produce four sons, Clinton, Michael (Wife Doreese), Ron (Wife Kerry-Ann), and Tyrone. While living in New York she worked for many years at Sarah R. Newman Nursing Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant, after which she relocated to Florida and worked as the Front Desk Agent for the Marriot Hotel Group. Paulette attended Lehman College in Bronx NY where she studied nursing and held a Florida Real Estate license.
Paulette was very kind to others, she would give the last dress to anyone who needs it without asking any questions. Each time she goes to Jamaica, she would shop and bring home goods and distribute it among the needy. She was a very loving person, a people’s person, and a devoted and faithful Christian. While living in New York she was a member of the Bronxwood New Testiment Church Of God. She was a devoted wife and mother, she loved her sons tremendously, and also loved her extended family.
Paulette is survived by 10 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; her mother Ms. Gwendolyn Ellis; brothers, Paul (wife Kerian), Wayne, and Steve (wife Dawn); her sister Veronica; Aunts Marlene and Madge; Uncles Herrington, Cevice and Barry; Sister-in-Laws Pauline Henry (Husband Michael), Vinette Gayle-Johnson (husband Audley), Dionne Johnson,
Brother-in-Laws Riggly Johnson, Roxy Johnson and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as amazing friends.
Rest in peace Paulette (Fay), you will be greatly missed and your memories will live on forever in our hearts. Now you are in the arms of Sweet Jesus, no more pain, no more hurt, no more suffering, you are free.
We love you, but Jesus loves you best.
