Patricia "Pat" (Boggs) Brace

Patricia (Pat) Brace, 96, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2021, at the Trustbridge Hospice Care Center located in John Knox Village, Pompano Beach, FL. Pat was born on February 10, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio, and was the only child to Hamilton Irwin Boggs and Cora Mildred (Balzhiser) Boggs. She spent her childhood in Ohio, graduating high school from the Hathaway Brown Girls School in Cleveland’s Shaker Heights.

In 1943 she married Robert (Bob) Adrian Brace from Mayville, NY, on Lake Chautauqua, NY. Pat and Bob lived initially in the greater Cleveland area and in Cincinnati where the first and second of their four sons were born. Following Bob’s service in WWII and Korea, the Brace family moved to Atlanta, GA, in the early 1950’s. There they had their third and fourth sons. In the early 1970’s they moved to Ft Lauderdale, FL. Subsequently, Pat and Bob divorced in 1976.

Pat especially enjoyed traveling to visit with family. She also loved going on cruises with her companion of many years, Bob Pemberton, who preceded her in death.

Pat is survived by her four sons who were her pride and joy: Robert (Bob) and JoAnn (Jo) Brace II, residing in Salt Lake City, Utah; Timothy (Tim) and Kathleen Brace, of Seattle WA; John H. Brace and Gedde Watanabe, of Pasadena, CA; and Christopher (Chris) Brace of Wilton Manor, FL. In addition, Pat is survived by 4 Grandchildren: Matthew (Heather), Jacob (Lisa), Josh (Trish) and Heather (Mike) and 6 Great-grandchildren: Harper, Collier, Mitchell, Lily, Dylan, Koji.

Private family celebrations of Pat’s life will be held at a later date to be determined. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Trustbridge Hospice and Palliative Care and John Knox Care Center (Drs. DePodesta and Peitzer, Margo, and Jackie and staff) and Sunshine Health’s personal care assistant, Prudence, for their kind and faithful care of our Mother.
