Nancy L. Spencer, 75, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2020 at her home of 52 years in Oakland Park, FL. She was born in Jamestown, NY and is the only child of John and Josephine LaPlaca.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Department of Children and Families. She was a florist, a radio VJ for WFTL, and worked at the National Safety Council.
She enjoyed a singing career for many years. In her young life, she went to the Orient and performed for our troops. She sang in countless productions and also had a band with her cousin Bill. Later, she sang with a big band called The Aristocrats and also had a 4 piece jazz band. Her stage name was, Nancy Lord.
She was a faithful member of New Hope Community Church in Ft. Lauderdale. She was in their prayer ministry, enjoyed packing for Haiti, decorating the church, and participating in their craft day.
Nancy will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, nana, cousin, and friend.
Surviving are her three children, Amanda Lunetta (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), Rob Lunetta (Cornelius, North Carolina), and John (and wife Lisa) Lunetta (Margate, FL) and her two grandsons, Mason and Daniel Lunetta.
We would like to thank our family and friends for their support and every expression of love.
In lieu of flowers, we would ask for donations be sent to New Hope Community Church 6400 NW 31 Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 to support their Haiti missions project that Nancy loved so dearly.
