Born on August 10th, 1951 in Havana, Cuba, Nancy was the only child of Gladys Sanchez and Julio Ramos. Baptized and confirmed in the Catholic church, Nancy grew up in Havana, Cuba being raised by her grandfather Delfin Sanchez Del Rey and grandmother Margarita Sanchez.
At the young age of 18, she met the love of her life, Juan Manuel Curiel, as he arrived home from his Military Training. After a few months of courtship, they married on September 6, 1969. Soon after they began their family when their firstborn, Omar, came into this world in July of 1970. In May 1973 Nancy gave birth to their second son, Dagmar.
Being the supportive wife she always was, she followed her husband's wishes when in 1979 he decided to flee communism in Cuba and moved to San Jose, Costa Rica. In September 1982, daughter Mara was born, then in July of 1983 Juan convinced Nancy that they should pursue the “American Dream” and moved to Miami, FL, where their fourth child, Edmar, was born in April of 1986. The family resided in Miami, FL until 1993 when Juan and Nancy purchased their first home and relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is where she spent the rest of her adult life as a devoted wife, the best and most loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Nancy is survived by her children Omar, Dagmar, Mara, Edmar, grandchildren, Omar Jr., Adrian, Alec, Noah, Easton, Ashton, & Demi, great-grandchildren Mariana & Liam. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends in Cuba and throughout the U.S.
