Moises Ismael Ramirez, Sr. was born on April 18, 1932, to Maria Ramirez and Ventura Candelaria in Yauco, Puerto Rico. Moises was one of seven children, three brothers and three sisters. Both parents passed when Moises was at a very young age. Moises is survived by one brother, Antonio, and one sister, Luz Selenia.
Moises left Puerto Rico in 1950 and moved to Homestead, Florida where he worked as a field worker for four years. In 1954, Moises relocated to Pennsylvania where he met the love of his life, Georgina Torres. It was truly love at first sight for Moises. After a nine-month courtship, they were later married on November 26, 1955 in Bristol, PA. Whilst living in PA, they welcomed four of seven children…. Moises Ismael Jr., Luz Aida, Elsa and Lydia. The family relocated to Elizabeth, NJ in 1960 where they later conceived three additional children…. Carmen, Samuel and Yvonne.
While residing in NJ, Moises worked as a machine operator for Scientific Packing Corporation for 35 years, Bayway/Orange, NJ.
In 1995, Moises retired at the age of 66 to enjoy his life with his wife, seven children and grandchildren.
In 1963, Moises dedicated his life to serving the Lord and became a member of Fountain of Salvation Church, Elizabeth, NJ. Part of his servitude and commitment included various responsibilities such as Treasurer of the Men’s Group for two years, President of the Men’s Group for four years, and later a church deacon for five years as well as performing outreach community work to minister to the sick and needy. For each and everyone of these efforts, the church duly recognized his outstanding contributions for elevating and spreading the word of God.
Moises valued his relationship with God, his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He loved to sing for the Lord be it at church or outside in his operatic voice. He often told everyone he encountered he loved them… be it waitresses, nurses, and so on.
After his long illness with COPD, Diabetes, Alzheimer Disease, Heart Problems, Moises departed this life on January 5, 2024 at 7:14 PM EST at 91 years old. He leaves to celebrate his memory, his loving wife, Georgina of 68 years. His children Moises, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Luz Aida and Nelson Robles of Rohnert Park, CA, Elsa and Scott Morgan of Tallahassee, FL, Lydia and Jose Gonzalez of Naples, FL, Carmen and David Brown of Boca Raton, FL, Samuel of N. Lauderdale, FL, Yvonne and Mark Howard of Henderson, TX.
A visitation for Moises will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Broward Burial and Cremation, 1801 East Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33306, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
