We met Michael through Dawn and were always impressed with what a good man he was.  A loving father, a committed husband, and all-around good person.  We could spend hours in his company...intelligent, polite, well-spoken and funny.  He kept a brave face despite the pain he was suffering through.  We send our condolences to the family. Michael was a huge inspiration to me and was instrumental in helping me reach my goals. I cherish the wisdom he has provided me and I am grateful to have known him.

We have known Michael since the very early days and watching him evolve from that time to the incredible father, husband and man that he become was our joy and privilege.  His Cinderella story with Dawn and his boundless love for Travis, along with his courageous fight these last years, are timeless testament to him.

A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven.

Michael was a gem of a person and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was among the most caring, dedicated and selfless people I have ever known in our profession. His job, quite simply, was to help people and he loved his job.

Thank you David.  You helped me.  8 years sober.  You saved my life, restored my family.  My 24 year old son followed me into the program.  I would not be here today, working and happy, were it not for your commitment and vision.
