Caivano, Mary, 89, of Davie, FL, passed away on April 4, 2011 as a result of pancreatic cancer. Mary was preceded in her death 17 years earlier by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Caivano. Mary was born in Newark, NJ and lived her childhood and early adult years in West Orange and Millburn, NJ before moving to Florida in 1970. She is survived by her son, Donald and wife Noreen; grandson, Kevin and wife Chelsea; grandson, Stephen and wife Amy; and three wonderful great-grandchildren, Kendra, Caelyn and David, all of Texas. She is also survived by her sister Theresa Quagliana. Mary, a very caring, compassionate person, had a strong belief in her Catholic faith and always reached out to help others. The Caivano Family wishes to thank the VITAS Hospice Caregivers in Ft. Lauderdale and Houston, TX for their support during a very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in remembrance of Mary Caivano to the Hope Outreach Center, 4700 SW 64th St., Suite A, Davie, FL 33324. Friends may call on April 17 from 6-9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 SW 64th Ave., Davie, FL 33317. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on April 18 at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 South University Dr., Davie, FL. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
