On behalf of Aunt Eleanor (who is battling some health problems at this time), Uncle Larry (Syd), Chris, Mark, and Marilyn, I want to express the Sydlo family’s sincerest condolences to the family of Lorraine Sanders on her passing. We were very saddened to hear this news. Among our family, Eleanor knew Lorraine the best and the longest, separated by only a few years, growing up in Jersey City when times were very different there. She enjoyed the many times they spent together there, as well as their regular correspondence by email later in life. Lorraine will be missed greatly, but she is at peace now. We send you love and comfort at this time.

All my aunts thought that I was a terrific dancer and would ask to dance with me at weddings.  They would see me dance with my sister Lorraine, who was a professional dancer, and think that I good.  The truth is that Lorraine would push me around and make it seem like I knew what I was doing.  I have many fond memories of my big sister. She was one of a kind.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all her family... Love, Mike and Patti 

Back in Jersey City, when Lorraine lived on Zabriski Street (just off Central Ave.), Dawn was just a toddler. On the few occasions that I remember, Lorraine had a date and asked me to babysit for my adorable little niece.
When her date arrived, the first thing out of my sister’s mouth was, “Pay the babysitter.” As the guy took a $5 bill out of his wallet, Sis said, “Don’t be so darn cheap; give Richie 10 bucks--and another 3 bucks so he can order a veal parmesan and spaghetti dinner from Jule’s.” Jule’s was a little Italian Restaurant, on Franklin Street, about 2.5 blocks from her apartment; they had free delivery. She knew it was my favorite meal and my favorite restaurant.

Shortly after Rich and I moved to Florida, we moved my stepmom from Williamsburg, VA to Punta Gorda, to live with us. Several times over the next six years, Lori (the Yankee) traveled across the state to take care of Louise (the southern Belle) so we could get away for a week once in a while.  As soon as our car was out of sight, Lori and Louise would hit the road.
The gals became fast friends; my mom loved Lorraine, and vice versa. They went shopping, they went out to lunch or dinner, and they talked about the Lord and His greatness. They were both on the exact same page even though they were from different generations. 
Lorraine was a treasure to many people during her lifetime, but especially to me. 

My sincere condolences to Dawn, her family, Michael, and Rich. 
May the memories of Lorraine live forever in their hearts.

Dear Dawn, Jim, and Family,
Many years ago, when I was a 17-year-old teenager, I admired what a stunning dance couple Lorraine and my brother, David, were at a resort in Lakewood, where they had taken me to spend the weekend with them.   At that time they were married to each other,  and I was so proud of them.   Not having any fancy clothes to wear at the hotel, Lorraine graciously offered me two of her dresses to borrow which made me feel like a real "grown-up" wearing them.   This incident was one of many such times when Lorraine displayed such concern toward me, and we became very close over the years.  I also regarded her as a very "classy" lady who had a great sense of humor.  I know she will be greatly missed by her family.

May you rest in peace, Lorraine.  When I think of you< I only have fond memories of laughter and many good times that we celebrated in life.  I know that you will be greatly missed - but one day we will all be reunited in God's family.
