Linda Goodman, age 67, of Sunrise, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Linda was born in Hempstead, NY by Beatrice Caruso (maiden) and Vincent Thomas. She was the second child born of three. She has an older brother, John Thomas and a younger sister, Virginia Thomas(deceased).
She attended Turtle Hook Junior High school and Uniondale High school in New York and graduated from Uniondale in 1971. She was involved in theater and working on sets for theatrical productions. While in high school she raised awareness for Suffolk State school raising money for a clothing drive and very active in Student Council doing this. She also played the cello.
After graduating she started working on cars and rebuilt a Corvette with her first husband Arthur in her early 20's. She got married in 1979 and had two children. One, Arthur T. Friedmann in 1981, and Kimberley A. Friedmann in 1986. After this, she worked for Toys R Us and was transferred to open their new store in Coral Springs, FL.
Her family lived in Cape Coral, FL and she came to visit, loved the weather and decided to move. She moved to the East Coast, Tamarac in 1992. She worked for Toys R Us many years, then decided to take a job as a waitress at Verdi's Italian Restaurant. She worked there for many years and decided to go to nursing school. She attended McFatter Vocational in 2002 and achieved her LPN certification. She was a nurse for 21 years. Caring for the sick and injured was something she took pride in and put love and care into treating her patients.
In 2008 she remarried, Daniel Goodman, and they were married for 8 years until his passing in 2016. Before marrying him they were in a relationship for several years and he was always in her heart. Her wishes are to be placed next to him for her final resting place here at Forest Lawn.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling, loved theme parks and she once even skydived.
Linda was a beautiful, fun woman inside and out. A hard worker and a dedicated mother and friend. She would give her all into everything she did. She had a heart of gold, and a sense of humor to make anyone laugh. She brightened up every room she was in and was loved so much by friends, family and neighbors. She will be missed dearly and is loved so much.
She is survived by her brother John Thomas, Her two children Arthur Friedmann and Kimberley Friedmann. Also, her three grandchildren Gianni Lafosse, Kathryn Falcone and Andrew Fogle.
A visitation for Linda will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 4366 - Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2401 Southwest 64th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317. Following the visitation will be a committal service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2401 Davie Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33317.
