Larry L. McNeely, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida peacefully passed from this life August 14, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital. Born March 13, 1935 in Crooksville,Ohio to Gracie and Rupert McNeely and raised in Baltimore, Ohio. He was married to Isabella Taylor McNeely for 65 years and had two daughters and a grandson.
Larry's interest in electronics led to a life career that included engineering and sales of carillons, international surveillance and security equipment, and broadcast equipment where he joined RCA Corporation. He left Ohio and became RCA's youngest regional sales manager and moved to Chicago. He then was promoted to RCA as sales manager over Central America, Northern South America and the Caribbean and moved to Ft. Lauderdale. In 1986 he founded MAC COM, INC. along with his wife and partner where he continued to serve the broadcast market throughout Florida, the Americas, and Russia. He was respected and esteemed by his principles and customers alike.
Even though he was tireless in serving his customers, he always took time for his family and was a devoted father and husband. He mentored and encouraged young people in the field of broadcast electronics. Throughout his life he contributed to his community wherever he might be located. He initiated the founding of the Baltimore Ohio Public Library in Baltimore, Ohio and the Baltimore Public Pool. He served on Christ Methodist Church Board, was a 50 year member of Baltimore Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, and Shrine. He served the Lake Marian Shores Homeowners Association on the Board and various positions for many years.
Upon retirement Larry and Isabella traveled extensively and maintained two homes in Florida.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, brothers Rupert Jr., Jack (and sister-in-law Beatrice), Lyle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Isabella and daughters Kathy McNeely-Johnson (Richard Johnson) Rockford IL, Karen McNeely Sand (Mathew Sand) Ft. Lauderdale and one grandchild David Johnson Seattle.
Larry was a prolific reader all his life and attributed the fine educators he had in Baltimore, for this gift. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Larry McNeely Memorial Fund, Baltimore Ohio Public Library, Fairfield County District Library, c/o Fiscal Officer, 205 E Market St, Baltimore, OH 43105.
Larry's memorial service will commence on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 at the Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home, 4061 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.
