Kenneth L. Brown

Kenneth Larson Brown, age 65, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, died unexpectedly at home on June 4, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Brown was born in Cartersville, Georgia, on December 22, 1946, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dabbs Brown. He was a graduate of Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War era.

He began his career with Trust Company Bank in Atlanta, and soon transferred to South Florida. He retired from SunTrust Bank as Senior Vice President of Personal Trust Administration, South Florida. He was active in Fort Lauderdale community affairs, formerly serving on several Boards, including the Salvation Army, and was Treasurer of Coral Ridge Yacht Club.

Mr. Brown was predeceased by his father, H. D. (“Dee”) Brown. He is survived by Susan Wilcox Brown and his only child, Robert Thomas Brown, both of Fort Lauderdale, as well as his beloved mother, Mary Lou Chastain Brown, of Cartersville. Also surviving are his aunts, Evelyn Chastain Dabbs and Minnie Chastain, both of Cartersville, and Bobbie Brown Sanders, of Santa Barbara, California, an uncle, Bobby H. Chastain, of Cassville, Georgia, and a number of cousins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday June 13, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club, 2800 Yacht Club Blvd., Fort Lauderdale.
